Senior Human Resources Leader & Partner, Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas
Jim is part of the People and Culture leadership team for the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, one of the reserve banks that, along with the Board of Governors, constitutes the central bank of the United States, aka "The Fed." In his role, he helps shape HR strategy and advises senior leadership to support the Bank's mission.  Prior to joining The Fed, Jim was a Senior Vice President in Human Resources at Citi, serving as a senior advisor to executives responsible for Global Operations Strategy, Consumer Learning, Consumer Location & Supplier Strategy, and Global Citi Service Centers while also providing HR oversight to leaders of 37 North American sites and 47,000 employees. Before that, Jim was a Human Resources Director at The M/A/R/C Group, a member of the Omnicom Group. Currently, he also serves as President of The Price Group LLC and as an Adjunct Faculty member in the 911±¬ÁÏÍø Satish & Yasmin Gupta College of Business, where he has taught courses in Leadership, Management, Human Resources, and Professional Development and helped launch the Executive Education PMP program. 

Jim earned an MBA and a graduate certificate in Human Resources Management from the 911±¬ÁÏÍø and holds certifications as a Senior Professional in Human Resources by the Human Resources Credentialing Institute; a Society for Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional; a Certified Professional in Talent Development by the Association of Talent Development; a Certified Diversity Executive by the Institute for Diversity Certification; and a Certified Agile Practitioner, Disciplined Agile Scrum Master, and Professional in Project Management by the Project Management Institute. Among other experiences, Jim is a graduate of civic programs such as Leadership Denton and the Leadership Arts Institute. In addition to frequently working with community and diversity organizations, Jim has presented at numerous leadership and diversity conferences. Jim's core expertise includes the breadth and depth of Human Resources/Human Capital Management; Organizational Behavior, Effectiveness, and Development; Talent Development and Performance Management; Diversity and Inclusion; Leadership Training; Executive Coaching; Career Guidance; and Project Management. When not working, teaching, or writing his dissertation related to diversity climate and the construct of thriving at work, Jim is a fine art mosaicist and can usually be found in the studio with his English cocker spaniel and a pile of smalti.

This 13-session course is held online via Zoom with a live instructor. Students attend online sessions for lecture and discusssion, and complete assigned work on their own between the live sessions.

Students can qualify for an early bird discount by completing the registration process (including full payment) by the early bird deadline. The early bird period ends 30 days from the start of the class. To qualify for the early bird discount, students must fill out and submit the online application form and submit payment before the early bird deadline (see registration deadline section for deadline information).

OTHER DISCOUNTS: The University offers discounts to 911±¬ÁÏÍø Alumni and Students, 911±¬ÁÏÍø Employees, Government Employees (federal and local), US Veterans, and PMI or PMI Dallas Chapter members. To qualify for the discount, students must provide an active .edu or .gov email, 911±¬ÁÏÍø ID, or membership number.

 

The maximum class capacity is 20 students. We reserve seats in class on a first-come, first-served basis. To secure a spot in the course, you must fill out the online application form and submit your payment. Application forms without payment do not guarantee a spot in class.

  • Cash payments: Our Office of Finance receives cash payments during regular business hours.
  • Credit/Debit card payments: We accept VISA, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express using our online payment portal.
  • Check payments: Make the check payable to "911±¬ÁÏÍø," write the student's name and id number in the memo, and mail it to 911±¬ÁÏÍø - Business Office, 1845 E. Northgate Drive, Irving, TX 75062.
  • Letters of Credit or Sponsorship Forms: Please get in touch with Jennifer Howard at jlhoward@udallas.edu for more information on this option.
  • Payment Arrangement: We have a payment arrangement option for students who need a little help. This option divides Tuition into multiple payments. Executive Education students who wish to participate must complete and fill out the Payment Arrangement section of the application to enroll in this option.

How payment arrangements work: Payments are billed monthly. You submit the first payment when you sign up for the payment arrangement. You can make all subsequent payments before the due date. The University must receive all payments in the agreement before releasing any certificate or transcript.

PAYMENT ARRANGEMENT AMOUNTS:

  • Tuition Rate: $2,500
    • Requires an initial payment of $700 plus two additional payments of $700, and a final payment of $400.
  • Tuition Rate: $2,250
    • Requires an initial payment of $700 plus two additional payments of $700, and a final payment of $150.
  • Tuition Rate: $2,000
    • Requires an initial payment of $700 plus one additional payment of $700, and a final payment of $600.

PAYMENT ARRANGEMENT DUE DATES:

Your first payment establishes your payment schedule. It is highly recommended you submit your first payment immediately to secure your space in class. The last day you can submit your payment is 10-days prior to the class's start date. The list below shows the payment due dates based on the first payment.

Your tuition amount determines if your tuition will be split into three or four payments. If your tuition is $2,500 or $2,250 you will make four payments. If your tuition is $2,000 you will make three payments.

For example, if you start your payment arrangement in November here is what your payment schedule would look like: 

    • Tuition of $2,000: This tuition amount is split into three payments. The first payment of $700 is due before the end of the month. The second payment is due by December 30, and the final payment is due by January 30, 2025. 
    • Tuition of $2,500 or $2,250: This tuition amount is split into four payments. The first payment of $700 is due before the end of the month. The second payment is due by December 30, the third payment is due by January 30, and the final payment is due by February 28, 2025. 


Important clarifications:

  • February Payment Arrangements: If you sign up for a payment arrangement in February here is what your payment arrangement schedule will look like: First payment of $700 is due by February 7; this is last day to register for the class.
    • Tuition of $2,000: The second payment and third payments will be $650 each with the second payment due on March 12, and the final payment due on May 12.
    • Tuition of $2,250: The second and third payments will be $775 each with the second payment due on March 12, and the final payment due on May 12.
    • Tuition of $2,500: The second and third payments will be $900 each with the second payment due on March 12, and the final payment due on May 12.
  • To qualify for the early-bird tuition rates: We must receive your application and payment before the early-bird deadline. No payment arrangement is available for the early-bird rates after the deadline. The Spring 2025 early-bird deadline is January 17, 2025 (11:59p Central).
  • To submit payment: You will be taken to our payment portal to submit your payment upon completing the application form.

PMI's New Body of Knowledge

 The new body of knowledge as defined by the Project Management Institute (PMI) effective January 2, 2021 consists of 3 domains, and 35 tasks. PMI defines domains and tasks as follows:

  • Domain: Defined as the high-level knowledge area that is essential to the practice of project management.
  • Task: The underlying responsibilities of the project manager within each domain area.

About the Exam:

  • 180 questions (175 scored questions + 5 unscored/pre-test questions.)
  • 230 minutes to complete the exam.
  • You have a choice of Computer-Based Testing (CBT) administered by Pearson VUE testing centers (paper-based testing is avialable under limited circumstances), or an Online Proctored Test (OPT) in the comfort of your own home or office while being monitored via webcam and microphone.
  • Two 10-minute breaks for computer-based tests. No scheduled breaks for paper-based exams.
  • Exam content weighted by the three domains from the PMP® Examination Content Outline: People (42%), Process (50%), Business Environment (8%.)
  • Exam eligibility period is one-year from your exam application approval date. You may test three times in 1-year.
  • You will receive a printed copy of your exam results immediately after completing your CBT exam. This will include pass/fail status and a proficiency level by domain (Profiecient, Moderately Proficient, Below Proficient.)
