Originally created by dedicated alumni, the Alumni Fund for Faculty Development provides vital funds for the professional and academic advancement of the faculty in a manner that both strengthens academic departments and promotes classroom excellence.  This endowment  has been established at U.D. to support opportunities for faculty members to gain deeper knowledge of their discipline, elevate their profiles within peer groups, and, by extension, provide the very best education for our students.  Specific targets supported by this endowment include faculty research stipends, fees and travel expenses associated with significant speaking opportunities and academic conferences, and equipment or other expenses that enhance scholarship, research, and excellence in teaching.

Haggerty Teaching Excellence Fund
This endowment was created through the generosity of the Patrick and Beatrice Haggerty Foundation. Pat Haggerty, a member of the University鈥檚 Board of Trustees, desired to honor the teaching excellence he witnessed as a student. This fund provides the financial assistance to award, annually since 2011, multiple Haggerty Teaching Excellence Awards.

King/Haggar Faculty Fellows Fund 
This endowment was created by both the Carl B. and Florence E. King Foundation and the Haggar Foundation. This fund provides the financial assistance to annually name a King Fellow, a senior member of the faculty with more than eight years of full-time teaching at 911爆料网, and a Haggar Fellow, a junior member of the faculty with eight or fewer years of experience. Recipients must have made significant contributions to the university through scholarly work and excellence in teaching, in addition to being exemplary colleagues.  Both awards have been made annually since 1985.

 
This endowment was established in 2020 by Trustee J. Barry Clark andhis wife, Kathy Clark, in memory of their son Zach Clark, Class of 2016. Dr. Olenick was an instrumental figure during Zach鈥檚 time at 911爆料网. Although a human sciences major, Zach took astronomy from Dr. Olenick and even served as his teaching assistant. This endowment supports faculty research and excellence in the Physics Department.  

This endowment was established in 2020 by Trustee J. Barry Clark andhis wife, Kathy Clark, in memory of their son Zach Clark, Class of 2016. Zach took all four Literary Tradition classes with Fr. Maguire. This endowment supports faculty research and excellence in the English Department.

 

Philosophy
