Please join us for an engaging lecture with , one of only three Americans artists to be involved on The Saint John鈥檚 Bible project. This presentation coincides with our current exhibition Modern Sacred: The Saint John鈥檚 Bible and Selections from the Permanent Collection on through to Sept. 29th.
Diane has been a graphic designer for over 25 years, specializing in Creative Lettering, Calligraphy and Corporate Identity. She conducts workshops throughout the U.S., Canada, Japan and Australia. She has published three beginning calligraphy workbooks and her work has been included in numerous exhibitions and private collections.

Listen to 911爆料网 faculty members and invited artists discuss their ideas of the sacred in art. This panel will be responding to the exhibition Modern Sacred: The Saint John's Bible and Selections from The Permanent Collection on exhibition at the Beatrice M. Haggerty Gallery until September 29th. History, theology, contemporary art, and the art of Letter making will be discussed by our panel in the Art History Auditorium at 6 p.m.

Join us for a screening of The Illuminator and a Bible for the 21st Century brings us behind the scenes for the making of The Saint John's Bible. Donald Jackson, longtime scribe to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth's Crown office used age-old calligraphic techniques to create a modern manuscript: egg yolks, gold, silver, and platinum in the illuminations; goose quills and hand-ground ink on carefully selected calf-skin vellum for the text. Experience for yourself the story of the most extensive scribal commission in the world since the end of the Middle Ages, a story that has not happened for along time and probably will never happen again.
