Biography
Brian Bentley a native of Dallas, received a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from Oklahoma Baptist University and Master of Music degrees in Choral Conducting and Piano Accompanying from Meadows School of the Arts at Southern Methodist University (SMU). Mr. Bentley completed additional coursework in Sacred Music at Perkins School of Theology – SMU. He has served as director of the 911±¬ÁÏÍøChorale since August 2012, directs the 911±¬ÁÏÍøSchola, and teaches The History and Theory of Gregorian Chant each spring at the university. Mr. Bentley serves on the faculty of the SMU Meadows School of the Arts as an Adjunct Lecturer. In addition, he is the founding director of the Schola Cantorum Stellæ Solius, an ensemble dedicated to the study & singing of Gregorian chant.
