Music, Concentration

The Music Concentration integrates a rigorous study of music within the liberal arts education. The program emphasizes both the technical and expressive aspects of music, encouraging students to explore their musical talents while also understanding music's role in cultural and spiritual contexts. Students benefit from mentorship with 911±¬ÁÏÍø music faculty and a supportive community, fostering artistic, academic and personal growth.

Music at 911±¬ÁÏÍø

The University offers a music concentration and ensures the presence of music on its campus through regular music programs and a variety of activities arranged by the Music Department.

  • Ensembles: 911±¬ÁÏÍø Chorale, 911±¬ÁÏÍø Schola, Chamber Ensembles, Lyric Theater

  • Private lessons: Piano, Voice, Violin, Viola, Cello, Guitar and Organ.

  • Performance Opportunities: Brown-Bag recitals, Pop-Up recitals, Studio recitals.

  • Additional Opportunities: Faculty recitals, Guest Artists recitals, travel to DFW area performances (Dallas Symphony, Dallas Opera, Fort Worth Symphony, Texas Ballet Theater).

The goals of the Music Department are to provide students with opportunities to explore and create music from a variety of genres and to prepare those students who choose to pursue the music concentration to be proficient in the artistic, theoretical and historical aspects of the language of music.
